Happy New Year
07 Jan, 2016
Happy New Year everyone. I just wanted to thank you all for taking an interest in my work. My adventures on social media were one of the highlights of 2015. Over 3.9 million likes on 192 posts on Instagram in 2015 for example. One of my calligraphy compilations got over 100 million views on Facebook. Over 1.4 million accounts following me in total. Such big plans for my art career in 2016, I want this year to be all about progression. I will tell you more soon. It is daunting but I'm going to give it everything I've got. I hope 2016 is a great year for all of you.
Tiffany & Co Christmas Campaign
07 Jan, 2016
I did some calligraphy for Tiffany & Co in the run up to Christmas. You can see the results on their official Instagram page. I am mainly focusing on art at the moment but a design project like this is obviously very prestigious and sits well with my objectives moving into 2016.
Interviewed by German Broadcaster DW-TV
07 Jan, 2016
I was interviewed about my work by the German Broadcaster DW-TV for their Euromaxx show. You can see the interview here. DW-TV is the German equivalent of the BBC World Service, so the piece was broadcast all over the world. It was an experiment for me. There is something incongruous about being an introvert and sitting in front of a TV camera, but I felt I needed to take the opportunity I created for myself. Ultimately I’m pleased to get mainstream publicity for my work and calligraphy as a whole. I feel, to achieve the things I want to, I need to get outside of my comfort zone occasionally and this was certainly one of several instances of that last year.
'First Time Ever' - New print release - 16th November 2015
18 Nov, 2015
'First Time Ever' is a limited edition print inspired by the song “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” written by Ewan MacColl. It has been said that calligraphy is music for the eyes and I really wanted to try to do the song justice as a piece of visual art. These two limited edition colourways are the only prints I will ever produce of this piece. You really need to see the prints in the flesh to do them justice, but check this short clip to give you an idea of the quality of the final product. Full details available now from my shop.
PBS NewsHour interview & other press coverage
18 Sep, 2015
A great week for media coverage. I have been interviewed by PBS NewsHour in the US about my work. You can see the interview here. I’m really pleased and grateful to get such mainstream coverage of my art and calligraphy work. I have also been interviewed by Booooooom, one of my favourite blogs, which is what drew PBS’s attention. In the Booooooom interview I discuss the calligraphy tools I use. Jeff Hamada asked me what the best trick I can do on a BMX is. He also asked me what I want to accomplish before I die. The video I did for the interview already has over 60 million views on Facebook, pretty crazy. You can read the Booooooom interview and see the video here.

Jerusalem - New print release
08 Sep, 2015
I am proud to present a new limited edition print that is released today, available here now. It is my tribute to the English poet, artist and mystic William Blake, a seminal figure in British culture. I've enjoyed Blake's poetry since I was a student in London, the city in which he lived and worked for most of his life. I am not religious but I find the words captivating, it's ultimately a poem about hope and revolution. The poem is so intense and epic in nature, so evocative and rich, the challenge quickly established itself as trying to find a visual match for the energy and spirit of Blake's language. It's always hard to talk about ones own work, but I am very proud of this piece and really feel it is one of my strongest pieces of work to date.
